Cartoon Network – Anti-Bullying Campaign
A serious message only works when it feels genuine.
For Cartoon Network’s anti-bullying campaign, the challenge was to reach a young audience with a message that felt direct, credible and emotionally honest.
The project came through Media Tornado. I directed the film and wrote the script based on the campaign input, shaping the message around Fernando Halman, ambassador of Cartoon Network’s anti-bullying initiative and a familiar voice from FunX.
Performance was central to the film. Fernando needed to deliver the message with the right balance of seriousness, warmth and a touch of humor, without weakening the subject. My focus in directing him was on tone, intonation and expression so the message would feel personal rather than scripted.
Visually, the film needed to remain accessible to a younger audience. We shot in the Amsterdamse Bos and used a colorful palette with strong contrast around Fernando, allowing him to stand out clearly within the environment. Motion graphics were integrated into the film to reinforce key parts of the message and make the campaign feel more immediate and approachable.
The result is a simple, direct film built around one thing: making the message believable enough to be heard.
