Good directing starts with a clear idea of what a story needs to make an audience feel. From there, I build the performances, visual language, rhythm and atmosphere around that intention.
As a Dutch film director based in the Netherlands, I direct commercials, branded films, fiction and documentary, collaborating with production companies, agencies and brands from early creative development through production. I’m drawn to strong concepts, compelling characters and projects with room for cinematic ambition.

I approach directing by finding the emotional core of a story first, then building a visual language around it. Performance, rhythm, framing, movement and atmosphere all need to serve the same idea.
My background in cinematography gives me a strong understanding of how visual choices translate from concept to screen, but directing always starts with story, character and intention. I like to be closely involved in development and pre-production, working with producers, agencies, cast and key crew to create a clear creative direction before we step onto set. The goal is never simply to make something look cinematic, but to create films that feel considered, emotionally grounded and visually memorable.
Working Together
I work with production companies, agencies and brands on commercials, branded films, fiction and documentary projects. I like to become involved early in the process, when there is still room to shape the story, visual language and overall direction of the film.
Depending on the project, that can start with a script or creative concept and continue through treatments, casting, pre-production and the shoot itself. I’m based in the Netherlands and available for productions across the Netherlands and internationally.
