Visual storytelling starts with understanding what a scene needs to feel like. From there, I shape the image through light, composition, lens choice, movement and texture, always in service of the story.
As a cinematographer and Director of Photography, I work closely with directors, producers and agencies to translate creative intent into a clear and consistent visual language. My experience across commercials, branded films, fiction and documentary allows me to move between controlled, highly designed setups and more natural, responsive ways of working.

Every project asks for a different visual approach. Sometimes that means precise lighting, controlled camera movement and carefully designed frames; sometimes it means working lighter, faster and more intuitively.
I like to develop that approach early with the director, using references, location choices, lens tests and technical preparation to create a visual language that is both creatively strong and realistic to execute on set.
The objective is consistency: images that support performance, atmosphere and story from the first frame to the last.
FROM PREP TO SET
I prefer to be involved early, when there is still room to shape the visual and technical approach of a production. That can include visual references, camera and lens tests, location considerations, lighting strategy and the practical setup of the camera department.
Having access to an extensive in-house camera and lighting package allows smaller productions to move quickly and stay flexible. For larger or more specialised setups, I work with professional rental houses to build the right package around the creative concept, scale and budget of the production.
I’m based in the Netherlands and available for productions across the Netherlands and internationally.
