INTRO
Documentary filmmaking begins with curiosity.
I am interested in people whose experiences reveal something larger than themselves: about history, society, identity, work, conflict or the choices people make throughout their lives.
My approach combines documentary authenticity with a cinematic visual language.

Character-driven documentary filmmaking
A documentary may begin with a subject, but audiences connect with people.
That is why I prefer to build documentaries around characters rather than information alone. Interviews, observational scenes, archive material and cinematography all become part of a larger narrative structure.
The objective is not simply to record what happened, but to understand what it meant to the people who experienced it.
Trust and visual storytelling
Creating space for real stories
Documentary directing requires a different kind of control than fiction.
You cannot always predict the moment, and you should not try to manufacture every answer.
Instead, the process depends on preparation, trust and recognising when something genuine is happening in front of the camera.
At the same time, documentary does not have to look purely observational. Cinematography, sound, archive, music and carefully constructed visual sequences can give real stories a strong cinematic identity without losing their authenticity.
